A Key Takeaway from the Gartner PPM Summit
At one of the year’s most important gathering of PPM professionals—the Gartner PPM Summit, held June 12-14, 2018 in National Harbor, Maryland—I heard many of the familiar themes we’ve become accustomed to. We all need to adapt to the continued digital transformation that is sweeping through our enterprises. It’s important to adopt new approaches, embrace new mindsets and leverage new disciplines, metrics and tools to ensure we don’t get left behind. The world is changing, and we need to change with it.
All of that advice of course is still extremely relevant. So, if you’re a PPM professional looking to make sense of all the changes buffeting our industry, you could do a lot worse than spending a couple of days in the company of your peers and some of the sharpest thinkers in our industry. But one specific topic seemed to permeate many of the conversations I had with attendees at this year’s Summit, and it’s one that could be either a blessing or a curse for your organization, depending upon your perspective.
