Abstract
Agility has become a theme of the project management practice and process. No longer can portfolio, program, and project managers rest solely on the technical aspects of project management such as development of plans and the monitoring of tasks to complete projects successfully. Instead, project management practitioners need more. They need the ability to be agile in their approach to project management and they need leadership skills—specifically emotional intelligence (EI). However, it does not stop there. Agility, leadership, and EI skills are just one facet of project success. Businesses need to invest in project management processes that are agile and work with the project manager and the business to solve the problem while still meeting the audit and business requirements.
Agility in Project Management
On 12 September 2018, I had the pleasure of attending the PMI Organizational Agility Conference 2018 offered by ProjectManagement.com and PMI. From the facilitator to the presenters, PMI was informative and enlightening.
