Developing Your Project Management Workforce

In November of 2018 at the Big 5 trade show in Dubai, I took center stage with Frederic Casagrande in delivering a keynote on how organizations can win the war for talent in project management.

I subsequently shared this presentation at a local PMI® chapter meeting in Abu Dhabi, UAE on how organizations develop their project management workforce. I am happy to share this with the global project management community.

The term “War for Talent” was first coined in a 1997 McKinsey Survey and further popularized by the book of the same name in 2001. In the survey, it was revealed that 77% of the companies were unable to attract a highly competent workforce and, of that amount, 90% were unable to retain the talents they acquired.

The same holds true in our project management world today. My interactions and discussions with professionals around the world reveal that organizations, regardless of their geographical location, still face the challenge of attracting and retaining the right talent.
