Businesses do not transform, people do
Company office buildings do not morph into new shapes overnight, transforming the business within them. Instead, organizational change is first mental, then we can change strategy and start doing things differently. So, business transformation is about changing minds and then actions. Yet, what do we really know about changing minds?

The rate of change is about to increase
With the spread of the internet, the cost and time required for communicating new ideas and products has effectively reached zero. Now that new concepts and solutions are free to share, the rate of change and business evolution has never been higher.

Yet in today’s connected world, it is easy to forget that only half of the world’s population currently has access to the internet. Just think of how fast great new ideas will surface as the other half of the planet comes online.

It is safe to say the pace of change will not decrease and is likely to continue increasing. As Darwin said:

“It is not the strongest that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the ones most responsive to change.”
