Vasudeva is a Senior IT Project Manager in Stockholm, Sweden.

After graduation, I had an opportunity to undergo some training for an entrance exam for my post-graduation course at the University at Hyderabad. While we were trained through classroom sessions, the institute director used to conduct personality development classes and inspirational sessions aimed at preparing us for the exam.

During this time, he used to show us clips from famous movies in which different characters achieved success or reached their goal in different forms. The intrinsic formula for their success was constant visualization of their goal being achieved, the burning desire to succeed in their goal and the repeated joy of experiencing success.

This was a great technique that let us constantly imagine the outcomes we expected—and motivated us to define a successful path toward a goal. This technique helped most of us get through the exam and move on to study at reputed universities. After starting my job (and through years of reading many books), I understand that this a great technique recommended by many authors in personality development books or programs (like Stephen R. Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma).
